Species accounts that have been developed for TEM wildlife interpretations over the past few years are now accessible through the Habitat Inventory & Analysis Section's web page for wildlife habitat ratings:
http://srmwww.gov.bc.ca/wildlife/whr/dataware.html
There is also a link to provincial-level species accounts at http://srmwww.gov.bc.ca/wildlife/whr/provincialex.html
These species accounts are listed by Region and by Project. Note that a particular species may have a number of species accounts, each of which were developed separately for a specific project.
In addition, generalized provincial species accounts have been developed for Moose, Elk, Mule Deer, White-tail Deer, California Bighorn Sheep, Black Bear and Grizzly Bear. These are intended to be a starting point for those requiring a species account for a new wildlife habitat mapping project or to provide a new interpretation to an existing project.
Note: Each of the project and provincial species accounts must be revised to address specific habitat requirements and ecosystem attributes important to the species for the project area (ecosystems) before being used for a particular habitat mapping project.
Questions about species accounts for wildlife habitat ratings can be directed to either Lynne Bonner (250) 387-2733 or Calvin Tolkamp (250) 387-2729
Also, FRBC and the BCFS have been investigating opportunities for harvesting for habitat and biodiversity. Reports are found at: http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/hfd/efp/index.htm
